Stanley Jones Elementary

Playing marbles for keeps after school (we called the metal ones Steelies). Playing foursquare. Wooden Tops with string and clear plastic tips. Can still feel them in my hand.

School Patrol brings some good memories especially the Band trips etc.

Saturday morning movies for the patrols at the Palace theater. They would hand out a bag of potato chips at the doors. I remember seeing Mutiny on the Bounty there.

The "Bring Em Back Alive" iron on patches from the something Raccoon safety program at school.  I remember kids getting tons of the patches and cutting them up by letters to make other sayings and wearing shirts to school with their made up slogans.

What was the school that burned down somewhere by Memorial Drive east of Edmonton Trail and the kids came to join us at Stanley Jones when I was in third grade?  Langeavin or something like that.
