Probably not even spelled right. I think Karen was the Daughter and I would say Susan would have been bi-polar by today's standards. I think Karen was a little older and wiser than Jody and me and they lived across the road on the east side of the Crescent Road Chapel. It's just bits and pieces in my memory, but the association with them seemed significant and having a little drama. Anybody help me out here?
Don't know if that was about the time we "found" the pastry truck just behind Center street in the cross alley between 8th and 9th. Of course we weren't used to Twinkies or danish in that abundance and such easy access. I honestly thought we were meant to find it.
Anyone remember Kelly O'Brien? I was at a birthday party of his and remember he and his mom rolling pennies and a kaleidoscope is in there somewhere. I took Kelly to primary one day and we were sitting in a circle on the chairs and one of the other kids told Kelly "he looked like a cow". Kelly was a little puffy and red faced from his leukemia and I didn't know what to say. He never went with me again.
We had primary in the new chapel and I was sitting on the right side at the front of the pews and got down and crawled all the way to the back on the floor under the pews before I was apprehended. We sang songs on written on big reams paper of and when it was our birthday, we would take 1 cent for every year and put it in a jar for the primary children's hospital.
So are you guys getting these posts or do you know how to find them? It seems to have slowed down a little, but I 'm sure you are all busy as I am.
Jody, do you remember Billy's army men and trucks and jeeps and tanks etc. My grandsons are big into army men, but I can only find plastic stuff. I would love a set like he had for them to play with. I remember breakfast on Uncle Bill and Marnie's deck with bananas and strawberries and cereal and then the army men. Best of all, my rambunctious and highly charged grandsons will play quietly for hours with the plastic toys. I'll bet that was what Auntie Marnie was thinking.

Doreen Magnuson was the Mom..your right she had some mental problems but a very good heart. She was my friend for many years. She came to our house one nite and wanted Dad and I to die with her. It was a pretty hokey evening. Later she called me on the phone and said my Daddy had contacted her and said to tell me i would die tht nite. Pretty unsettling. She passed away a few years ago. When she was lucid she was a fun loving friend to be with.I miss her.
